About Us

Military Officers Association of America, California Council of Chapters (CALMOAA)

The Military Officers Association of America, California Council of Chapters (CALMOAA) is a nonprofit public benefit corporation and an affiliate of the Military Officers Association of America (MOAA). Together, we are "One Powerful Voice," dedicated to making a meaningful impact for the entire military community—including active-duty service members, retirees, and surviving spouses of all ranks.

As a nonprofit organization, CALMOAA operates exclusively for the benefit of the military community and not for private gain. It is organized and administered under the California Nonprofit Public Benefit Corporation Law and the Internal Revenue Code Section 501(c)(19) to fulfill its mission of advocacy, support, and service.

All Officers of all the branches of the uniformed services are welcome to join our organization. Today, we have 23 chapters and more than 1,200  members in the state of California.

Mission

  • Promote the aims of the Military Officers Association of America (MOAA), as stated in the preamble to the bylaws of that association.
  • Further, the legislative and other objectives of MOAA
  • Foster fraternal relationships among retired, active, and former officers of the uniformed services, the National Guard, and reserve components.
  • Provide useful services for uniformed service members and their families, and survivors.
  • Protect and advocate for the rights and interests of service retirees, Veterans, and current uniformed service members in matters of state and federal legislation (this includes officers, warrant officers, enlisted personnel, surviving spouses, and eligible families of this community).
  • Provide the assistance necessary to affiliate chapters to effectively serve their members, their communities, and the nation.
